1. Prepare the gun for loading: Pull the plunger rod at the rear of the gun all the way out until it locks into place.
2. Load the grease cartridge:
   • Unscrew the head of the grease gun from the main barrel.
   • Insert a grease cartridge into the barrel. Insert the end with the foil seal first.
   • Remove the foil or pull-tab from the opposite end of the cartridge.
   • Reassemble the gun by screwing the barrel back onto the head.
3. Prime the gun:
   • Before fully tightening the head, loosen it by about half a turn to allow trapped air to escape.
   • Release the plunger rod from its locked position and press it inward.
   • Press the air bleeder valve, usually a small button or nipple near the nozzle, while pumping the handle. Stop when grease begins to emerge from the nozzle.
   • Retighten the head of the gun.
4. Apply grease:
   • Clean the grease fitting (zerk) on the machine before attaching the grease gun.
   • Press the grease gun's coupler firmly onto the fitting.
   • Pump the handle repeatedly to dispense grease into the component.
