 Assay & Diagnostic StepsIf you are troubleshooting, repairing, or benchmarking this driver, follow these steps:

  1. Visual Inspection: Check for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or damaged dip switches on the driver casing.
  2. Voltage Check: Ensure your power supply outputs a steady DC voltage between 12V and 40V. Over-voltage will damage the board. 
  3. Coil & Motor Check: Use a multimeter to check the resistance of your stepper motor coils before connecting. A shorted motor can blow the driver's internal MOSFETs. 
  4. Current Setting: Verify that the dip switches on the driver are set to match the rated current of your specific motor. Running the driver at too high of a current will cause severe heating. 
  5. Signal Test: Use a pulse generator or a microcontroller (like an Arduino) sending known Step/Dir signals to test for rotation. If the motor holds position but doesn't rotate, check your PUL/DIR voltage level and ground wiring.
