T12-KU Knife Shaped Soldering Bit/Tip Hakko Quick
Hakko T12 Soldering Station T12-KU Soldering Bit/Tip, Quick T12 Electric Soldering Tips T12-KU Series Iron Solder Tip Welding Tools for FX907/9501, Hakko T12-KU Shape-KU Soldering Tip
The T12-KU is a replacement knife-style soldering tip for T12 series soldering stations, such as the Hakko FX-951. Its integrated design, with the heating element and temperature sensor built into the tip, provides rapid heating and fast thermal recovery. This makes it ideal for precision soldering on PCBs and general electronics repair.
- Shape: Knife/Chisel (Shape KU)
- Blade width: 3.0 mm
- Blade thickness: 1.2 mm
- Blade angle: 45°
- Tip length: 11 mm from the blade edge to the casing
- Material: Usually an oxygen-free copper core with multiple layers of plating, including iron and chromium, for high thermal conductivity, durability, and oxidation resistance.
- Max power: Can typically handle up to 75W.
- Integrated design: The heater, tip, and sensor are integrated into a single cartridge, allowing for efficient heat transfer and accurate temperature control.
- Durable construction: Many brands construct their T12 tips with a copper core and multi-layer alloy plating for heat resistance and oxidation prevention.
- Rapid heating: Due to the integrated heating element, these tips can reach working temperature very quickly, with some models heating to 450°C in as little as 8 seconds.
- Knife shape (KU): The distinct knife shape allows the tip to be used in multiple orientations. The fine edge is suitable for drag soldering and precise work on multi-pin ICs, while the wider sides are effective for applying heat to larger components and pads.
- Fine-pitch and drag soldering: The blade's edge is perfect for heating up and dragging along a line of closely spaced pins, such as on surface-mount components (SMDs).
- Bridging correction: The knife edge is useful for cleaning up and correcting solder bridges that form between component leads.
- Applying heat to small or large areas: The tip can be used on its point for precision work, or laid flat on its face or line for heating larger pads or through-hole component leads.
- Multi-pin ICs: It's often used for soldering and rework on multi-pin integrated circuits (ICs) found in mobile phones and other electronics.
